As a member of the senior leadership team for UnitedHealth International, Michael is responsible for development and sales of UHI’s international medical insurance business, with a particular focus on coverage for US expatriates. In this role, Michael oversees the work of a multi-disciplinary team from United, as well as relationships with non-UHI supply chain partners.
Michael began his tenure with UnitedHealth Group in 2004, leading the UnitedHealthcare national proposal unit where he improved overall quality and timeliness and increased close ratios. He also led the development and delivery of the UnitedHealth Leadership Academy, where he drove this primary change initiative through mentoring and coaching of the top 3,000 leaders in the company on Redefining Quality, Aligning Accountabilities and Enabling People.
Prior to joining United, Michael most recently did stints at Convenience Learning International and at GE. During his GE tenure, he was chosen by the CEO to lead the major GE initiative into e-Business. In this capacity, he was responsible for creating the strategic direction for all global e-Business initiatives, including e-Commerce initiatives, supply-side relationships and web-enabling of processes.
Michael holds Bachelors Degrees in Business and Psychology from Concordia College, and has studied health care management at St. Thomas University.
